Champ III: Going Places

The adventure starts here.

Day 15 – Seabreeze Campgrounds near Fox Island Nova Scotia (approximately 125 miles from yesterday)

It was not hard to get up early today, it was raining. There were a couple of pauses in the rain so Kelso got a walk, not a long one, but a walk. The drive started with no rain but before long I had the wipers on intermittent. As we moved West, The rain quit for a little while then came back and it did get steady enough to have the wipers on regular.

The traffic was not bad. There were some cars, but not a great deal. The impatient ones that came up behind me had no trouble finding room to pass me. The road was Hwy NS 104 which is considered one of their major roads for East-West travel. For the most part the road was in good condition. When we turned off to head for Seabreeze, we got into the Nova Scotia coastal mountains. At some of the higher elevations we were actualy in some thin misty clouds because they disappeared as soon as we started down. The clouds happenned in several places. Some of the road grades coming down were marked as 12% which is pretty steep for a road.

I did not take any pictures while driving because of the rain and the water on the road we were running thru, but I took a few later at the Campgrounds. A fairly nice campgrounds that has some kind of festival in a nearby town, so they are full for tomorrow. I was going to stay 2 nights, but not now. The campground is right on the shore of the island we are on, with some nice views out onto the water. It is about 50% tents and 50% RV’s.

After dinner time it was getting cool so we moved into the RV. As it turned out, that was good, because it started raining and it really poured for about 15 minutes and it is still raining and it started about an hour ago. Well it is about 8:00 pm Atlantic Daylight Savings Time, and the sun has come out.

This is a look toward the water from the area where our RV is. You can see the yellow tent that is between the road and the beach.

This is standing on the beach looking to the North. Yes, those are stones for the beach cover and not much sand.

This is taken off the shore a little ways but we are looking South. Not sure what the 2 stacked pieces of wood symbolize, if anything.
