As I have done in the past, I post on the day I travel and not on a sit still day. Yesterday we sat because I needed to do laundry and it just felt good to walk around and not have a schedule except for Kelso’s breakfast and dinner.
I was not a long ride and the roads were about the same, 2 lane, but todays roads were in really great shape with only 1 small section that was bumpy. Ran into more traffic today and it included a few semis that passed me. Took the bridge over to Prince Edward Island and the bridge has to be maybe 4 miles long and of course they were doing repairs, but the delay was not too long. The bridge is 2 lanes with maybe 2′-0″ shoulder on the side and solid crash barriers up to about 4′-0″. There is a toll on the bridge, but you pay on the way out ($50.75 C).
There is not a lot of commercial business on the island and all the roads are 2 lane. I chose a campground on the east side of the Island so I had to cross the Island. It was good that my GPS was working, I must have made 20 turns. I did pass 1 farmer on his tractor on the roads. In the 20 or so miles of Island I traveled and I saw 1 village and it had a traffic signal.
The campgrounds are really nice with an open area near the office for camping and then further in a wooded area where individual campsites that are pretty well separated by vegitation. Kelso & I are in the wooded area. We did take a walk down to the shore and were able to look East out over the water. We could see several islands and a nicely developed residential area to the Northeast.
I took pictures but had trouble downloading them and finally got that done this morning. I resized all the pictures some are better than others but they give a flavor of what PEI is like. It is really nice here with great views and not any conjestion.
The weather yesterday was sunny and very warm, I would estimate it was in the upper 80’s. This morning it is very cloudy, some scattered rain showers and temps in the low to mid 70’s, nice and comfortable. There has been a little thunder in the distance, but nothing by us so far. Kelso & I took a walk around this morning and we met a couple of the campers that were leaving to head home. I cannot see all the license plates but I saw 1 from Ontario and the rest were New Brunswick.

Looking East with the residential development on the next point of land.

This is the road outside our campsite 25, looking further into the campgrounds.

This is our campsite and it does noot lack for space. I have had Kelso off lease just a little in this camp site.

If you look close you can see Kelso peeking at you from the shade.

This is looking back toward the entrance and the open camping sites. The water/ocean is about 600′ or so past the trees in the center.

This is on the way to the beach. The road is a private road with houses both sides, but at the end you take a short path down to the beach/water area.

This is the view across the front yard of one of the houses, a bay, an island and then the ocean. I think these are summer home because there are not a lot of cars or people around.

This is the beach looking to the South with more buildings on the next tip of land sticking out.

Another view of the residential development across the bay. Someone left a boat but we did not use it.

Well here is todays sky, July 18th. Big change from yesterday. The pool in the foreground is for campers. No pets are allowed.
