We started about 8:00 this morning. The sky was clear and it was about 80 outside. Considering it was a Sunday, there was as much traffic as any other day, not a lot. There was reasonable traffic in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
I had gone thru the map on Google Maps and pretty much layed out our route for me to follow. This worked fine until the first construction zone were we should have turned but we could not. None of the problems were big issues but all together they may have cost us 30 to 45 minutes on the road.
I was able to get a few pictures. One is of pennants or banners that the Towns fly from their street light poles. The picture is one from Yukon, OK. The towns put in a lot of effort and dollars for the celebration and I think it looks pretty good.
The second picture is of a very large figure that I have not seen before. No trouble knowing that you are on Route 66 when you see this one. I am going to have to stop more often for pictures of these type figures, I have seen probably 6 or so places that have had them. I know none of the background on this one
