We went out for a walk and it was raining lightly so we did not stay out long and they said the rain would end in an hour. I had traded texts with Pete Beers and knew they were running errands till about 1:30 so we had lots of time. Kelso got fed and then we did a walk a little later and it was not raining.
Traffic started out light but the closer we got to Augusta the heavier it seemed to get. It never slowed the speeds but there were a lot of cars and trucks around. It did start to rain lightly and I had the wipers on intermittent slow. I had asked the Google Maps to take me to a CVS Pharmacy because I needed a couple of prescriptions filled. The CVS I went to was a Pharmacy inside a Target store. That worked out well, because I was able to do some shopping for essentials done while they prepared the prescriptions.
We got back on the road about 12:20 and I thought that would be fine. We it was more than fine because we got behind some very cautious driver that did 35 in a 45 zone and when it went to 55 zone they increase to 45. They also slowed at every curve. I just sat back and try to relax because the road was hilly and lots of turns and once we got to the City of Bath the road was 2 lanes and our side had way too many cars. We finally arrived at Pete and Carolyn’s in a light rain at about 2:00 pm. The final couple of miles was on a nicely paved road, but it was only a little wide than a car and 1/2. Obviously not much traffic. Their road is a dead end and I had Pete to direct me in backing in the RV into their driveway which is very narrow with trees and bushes.
We had a great dinner that Carolyn fixed and they planned a boating tour on Friday to showm me the sites around Southport and Booth Bay. The tour was fabulous and we stopped at Burnt Island and had sandwich lunch that Carolyn made. The pictures show some of what we saw. We are go to a local fish restaurant tonight and I will leave around ( in the morning.

Pete & Carolyn;s looking down toward the water. The tide is normally in the 6′ to 8′ range so the bottom section goes up and down. This is close to low tide.

This shows a neighbors dock access. The picture was taken from the 1st level down. They are on a bay that is probably 2 miles from the Atlantic.

This is looking right from their dock and the house is the last one on the street and this looks up the river. The water is deep. When we were out in the boat I think we were not to far from the house and Pete said it was over 120′ deep.

This is Pete & Carolyn’s tour boat. What a great ride and notice the rain is gone and the sun was out and maybe 72 degrees.

This is looking back at the their house from the 1st level down.

This was one of the sites we saw. The Flagpoles represent to 6 masted sailing vessel the Wyoming. The lower white piping by the water represents the bow and the larger mass of white piping in the rear is for the stern. It was set to the exact dimensions of the Wyoming.

This is the Bath Boat Building Company, During World War II they worked 3 shifts around the clock, 7 days a week and turned out Destroyers for the Navy, one every seventeen days, They are still building Destroyers and there is one in the drydock to the left, another in the middle and one in the water on the right.

Another, closer view with the drydock on the left. Also this is several miles from the Atlantic and the river has more than enough depth for the Destroyers to access the Atlantic.

This one looks like it is pretty close to completion.

This is Burnt Island and is a historic site that is used for educational purposes. It is located about 1 mile from Booth Bay Harbor. There is a picnic table just to the left of the smaller building where we sat and had lunch with a great view.

Another view of the lighthouse from the water.

What would a trip to Maine be without a fresh Lobster Dinner.

A beautiful sunset to cap off a wonderful day.
