Champ III: Going Places

The adventure starts here.

Day 6 – July 12th, Mont Joli QC, Camping Union Anne Campgrounds (approx. 108 miles East of yesterday)

I am now traveling on Hwy 132 East which is essentially the coastal highway around Quebec. I will stay on this for most of the trip. Lots of nice country and the “hills” are more prominent along the coastal area. The views of the St. Lawrence are very nice. The further East I get, The wider the River gets. I checked the tides and they are about 10′-0” in this area. That is certainly more that the 1′-0” to 1′-6” we get in the SW Florida area.

The Campground were quite nice with everything well maintained. The RV site we were assigned was in the trees and had all the services we needed. There was no one in the site next to ours for the first several hours and that was good because there was a problem with the breaker on the electrical service for my site, so I used the adjacent site. When a couple pulled into that site I asked if they were going to use the electrical, and the woman, who spoke some Englis said yes, so I went to the office and notified them. They sent an employee out and he replaced the breakers and some wire. It all worked last night.

Kelso and I walked around the campgrounds quite a bit. A lot of the residents appears to be here for the entire season the way the site is layed out and some have wood decks adjacent to the RV. This has been common in the campgrounds that we have visited so far. It just looks a little strange because I always think of RVers moving around all the time. The campgrounds were very nice and Kelso had a couple of neighbors, a dark Golden Retriever and a brown, short hared boxer type dog about Kelso’s size. He got along with both of the dogs, more so with the Golden. The owners of these dogs were all French Canadians that did not speak English.

Typical Hwy 132 with the water on the left and some of the small homes.

You can see a little more water on the left. Notice the heavy traffic.
