THe last several pictures are of one of the grand old woodies. This boat is about 50′ and absolutely pristine condition. The dinghy has a Florida registration but the boat is from Harbor Springs.
Charlevoix Day 5
I walked with Candy to the Pine River inlet on Lake Michigan. Difficult to walk against the wind. Their prediction was 20 to 25 knots out of the NW with waves 6 to 9 feet. The waves made it but I think the wind may have been a little more. It doesn’t matter we are not going out. Tomorrow is for gale warnings with winds to 40 knots out of the South, and waves 8 to 12 feet.
So how are you keeping yourselves occupied on these days when you can’t travel? (Besides walking Candy.)
Watching football – Larry has boat rigged so we can connect to cable or dish/spending time on computer/strolling sidewalks of “downtown Charlevoix”/shopping and window shopping/Farmers Mkt yesterday/Candy loved that – lots of attention/being creative with the leftovers – we eat out average every other night – some great restaurants and chat with other boaters – several waiting fo same weather break we want. At least 2 other Loop boats here now – imagine there are others in other ports on Michigan coast.
If you’re “stuck” in Charlevoix, try (flying or the ferry) to Beaver Island for the day. Brunch at Dalwhinnie Bakery, dinner ay Circle M, with nice walking and good people in between.
